Gallbladder Inflammation

The gall bladder is an organ that is present in the upper right abdominal cavity and near the liver. The most important function of this organ in the body is to help in the system of transporting the bile. There are times when the system does not work properly due to disease in or of the gall bladder, and this can lead to gallbladder inflammation. Though there are other problems that can occur in the organ, inflammation is one of the most common reactions that occur in the body. When there is disease in any organ, the inflammation of the organ is one of the effects and it is no different as far as the gall bladder is concerned.

There are various kinds of inflammations that can occur and they are considered to be diseases. One of them is the acute cholecystitis. This is a condition in which there is a sudden increase in the size of the organ. The main reason that causes this problem to occur is the presence of stones in the gall bladder. This causes the enlargement of the gallbladder. Though the presence of the stones is the main reason behind this condition, there are times when the person can have an infection in the part of the body. This too can result in the same problem.

The other condition that occurs along with inflammation is called chronic cholecystitis. This is where there is a chronic problem, and a person who is affected and will keep suffering from repeated enlargements of the organ. Other than the inflammation, the person who is suffering from this condition can also have pain and associated other problems. This condition is very chronic in nature, and the person who is suffering from gallbladder inflammation will have pain that comes and goes along with the inflammation.

Pain is something that is usually present along with the inflammation in the person who is suffering from damage to the organ. There is an association between the formation of stones in the organ and the inflammation. There is also an association between the presence of stones and the occurrence of cancer. So, the most common treatment for this condition is the removal of the gall bladder. So, if the gallbladder inflammation is found during any routine check-up, or because of associated symptoms, then the most common method of control is removal of the gall bladder.
